John Deere Lawn Equipment

Being born in Rutland, Vermont in eighteen four, John Deere was to become a well known and trusted blacksmith. His name was becoming known around Vermont because of his workmanship and ingenuity. Unfortunately around the mid eighteen thirty’s became quite depressed and Mr. Deere couldn’t find enough work. He left his wife and children which joined him later and moved to Midwest America, Grand Detour, Illinois.

The people of this small town needed a blacksmith desperately and soon Mr. Deere was back in business. He was starting to hear complaints about the problems farmers encountered about the mud sticking to their plows. The cast iron plows were not working in this type of soil, it just being too heavy. In eighteen thirty seven Mr. Deere developed a plow made from a broken saw blade, and gave it a run on Lewis Crandall’s farm. It was a success and as they say the rest is history. He did not just develop the plow but many other types of equipment the farmers and ranchers still use today.

John Deere lawn equipment was starting to be seen on the market in nineteen sixty three with the first model one one ten. Built in the Horicon, Wisconsin, it is the home of the John Deere lawn equipment. Although some models are built in Tennessee and the Carolinas, it still produces small lawn equipment.

When thinking of buying John Deere lawn equipment what comes to mind to most people is the lawnmower. If you have only about a half acre or less to mow, you can get by with buying a push lawn mower, or some people like the riding lawn mower. If you have more than half an acre, it would be good to buy that lawn tractor. More than a lawn mower, it is a bit more expensive. But the end results will make up for price in a beautiful manicured lawn anyone would be proud of. Many people like the fact that the John Deere lawn equipment will take on other attachments, such as a snow plow, or a lawn aerator. The larger lawn tractors can use the grading blades and tillers.

Many people complain because of the lawn mower they use still needs two passes to get the lawn looking nice. John Deere lawn equipment, specifically the ZTR (zero turn radiuses) mowers. These are much more expensive, but they get the job down nicely. They are tight turning, around trees and such. They are extremely agile and will cut that lawn quickly. But they do have a few draw backs, such as learning to drive them. They have a lot of pulling and pushing levers, and they do not come with any attachments. They can not mow small hills, because they do have a tendency to roll over. But for a flat lawn they are good to use.

A few things to look for when buying John Deere lawn equipment are to be sure to check the overall working style. You must decide what you want it to do. Is it going to be used for a large lawn, a small lawn or for professional jobs? Some John Deere lawn equipment comes with bags for the lawn clippings; some have a mulching plate that will cut up the grass and puts it right back into the lawn.
